Veterinary Referrals

Providing pets with specialized care to address specific health needs with expert attention.

Here at Antigonish Veterinary Clinic, we often receive referrals from our colleagues at other veterinary centres because of our capability to treat a wide range of patients such as companion animals, pocket pets, equine and farm animals. If your primary veterinarian has referred you to our clinic, we warmly welcome you to the Antigonish family! Please do not hesitate to call us at 902-863-3157 if you have any questions about your upcoming appointment.

How do I get a referral at Antigonish Veterinary Clinic?

The referral will usually come from your primary veterinarian.

What information should I bring with me to your hospital?

When your veterinarian reaches out to us, they will forward your pet’s medical records and any other information that we need for the consultation or procedure. If you need to bring anything else, your veterinarian will let you know, otherwise you really do not need to bring anything else other than yourself and your furry family member.

What is a veterinary referral hospital?

Referral centres like us have the ability to handle more complex or specialized cases, as opposed to other veterinary healthcare providers in the region. Because of our common goal to care for animals of all shapes and sizes, the veterinary industry here in our community often works with each other so that we can make the most of the technology and experts we have available to us.
